FREEDIVING TEAM
ASHLEY FUTRAL CHAPMAN was born Inland in a town called Richlands,NC (40+ miles from the sea). She took her 1st PFI (Performance Freediving International) course in 2008, 3 years later she is the proud owner of the US National Record for CNF (Constant No Fin Apnea) 58m/190 feet. Now you can find Ashley either hapily underwater with her husband ,Ren Chapman, or on Nila Girl (their 35’ Pearson Sail Boat) making future plans for all the places they will visit. In May 2012, Ashley broke the World record in CNF reaching 65 meters !!! Her next challenge is to attend the 2012 AIDA World Champinoship in September, in Nice, France.

Diving For(Years): Been Freediving for 3 years.
Passions: Freediving, Competitive Freediving, Sailing, Enviroment Conservation, Spearfishing, running Evolve Freediving and “Oreo” her 14 year old Shitzu.

Favorite Locations: For spearfishing she prefers North Carolina and for Freediving she prefers Cayman.
A message for all the rookie freedivers out there: “Don’t let lack of experience intimidate you, anyone can do this. I mean, look at me, I started 3 years ago and now I hold a National Record. I guess what I really love about this sport is that you never really know your limits and with freediving I get to push my limits everyday.”
REN CHAPMAN was born on the coast of Wilmington, NC (20 mins. from the ocean). Ren has been in the water ever since he was a kid, when his father (a scuba instructor) would take him out to get his feet wet. He took his 1st PFI course in 2006 and became a PFI instructor by 2009 along with his wife. Now you can find him either running Complete Playground or working on Nila Girl. Ren is also making a name for himself in the underground Freediving and Spearfishing Filming community, we’re expecting great things from him.

Diving For(Years): Been Diving since he was 6 years old.
Passions: Freediving, Freediving Photography & Videography, Sailing, picking up clams by the marsh, pretty much doing anything around the water.
Occupation: Runs “Complete Playgrounds” & “Evolve Freediving” with his wife.
Favorite Locations: No location in particular. Prefers Reck Diving or Deep Diving.
A message for all the rookie freedivers out there: “It’s all about safety, for me the best thing is being able to come back home after a great diving session. Always dive using the buddy system. Sharing the experience is one of the most important and rewarding things about diving”.
NICK MEVOLI was born in Florida but lived most of his life in the New York city and State. He just recently entered the freediving competition world and set the tone with a new US National Record of 91 meters CWT (Constant Weight). Nick is now part of the USA Freediving Team and training to compete at the 2012 AIDA World Champinoship in September, in Nice, France.
